A tiny shop by the side of the road which many Newtonians pass by on their way to Route 128 this is in fact a goldmine for bargains on first-quality china by Dansk, Arabia, Denby, and others, as well as accessories and decorative items for the kitchen and dining room.
Regular prices are all discounted, like a hand-painted china set of 32 pieces (eight full settings), listing for $520; here, it sells for $399. And there are usually plenty of in-store sale items open stock, discontinued patterns, one-time deals like a five-piece Baronesse setting by the German maker Hutschenreuther. The elegant white china lists at $93.50 per set; NPH normally has it for $70, but it was recently on sale for $46.88. Yup, thats half-price.
Another recent special on Retroneau flatware offered a complete service for eight along with a four-piece serving set reduced from an original $467 retail to just $179. Newton Pottery also has enamel teapots, lovely candles and ceramic holders, cotton placemats, cheese boards, and other gifty items. They offer a bridal registry service as well.
